Original town Pag did not offer to population enough protection, so they built new one about 1km from the old one in 15th century. The plan of residency did the most important Gothic architect Juraj Dalmatinec. He was very modern, so he offer the town with the streets with right angled. The square with cathedral, ducal and Episcopal palace was situated in the centre of the town.
